You Don't Win Friends With Salad

So it is day 972 of my expedition to the Czech Republic. Okay maybe it hasn't been that long but I was surprised to find out today that it is in fact Friday. We just got to Prague and so I figured it would be a good time to update you on the comings and goings of me. That's why you read this thing right? The last few days have been a complete tornado of activity. I think it might be easier to give you a quick list rather than try to recall everything. You'd get bored and I've got a bad memory. So here we go:

1. Got to visit a Czech school like K-12th. Pretty neat. We attempted to help them practice English which ended up with me asking one of them for a piece of paper and writing down words and phrases in English that I needed to know and having them translate it for me. Oh, apparently deodorant is optional in school too. The whole place smelled like an onion. Also we got to sit in on the exam that every senior has to take before they are allowed to graduate. It's super intense and they have to do it in the foreign language of their choosing. Learned some new facts about America. Like that San Francisco has the Golden Bridge and that Chicago (pronounced ChiKago) is famous for mafia. Educating indeed.

2. Went to Cesky Krumlov which is a bad ass castle/town where The Illusionist was filmed and also part of Hostel. I got a lot of cool pictures that I hope to upload while I'm here but I'm not going to make any promises because this has been CRAZY!

3. Went to Vienna, Austria. If you've ever wondered what Vienna is like, picture the richest part of California, then ramp up the douche factor 1000 percent, add German and you've got it. Very beautiful place but super expensive. The cheapest thing was Austrian McDonald's and it was still 9 Euros which is kind of a lot for fast crap. Also got duped into going to Mozart's House which, as it turns out, was not his actual house, did not contain any of his stuff, and he only rented for like two years and then died. Lame. Also another 7 Euros.

4. Went to a wine cellar party last night with a gypsy band. It was awesome and they did not try to shank me. My opinion of gypsies is still undecided but these guys were all right. Also wine is like three bucks a bottle and it is delicious!

5. Tried rather unsuccessfully to just get a damn salad. Everything here has meat in it. You can get meat stuffed inside of meat and then deep fried. I need salad. Vegetarian here is cheese, fried. Hence the title of this blog. They are not concerned with making me their friend and as a result they don't have salad. I did get one the other night but they put bacon it in and noodles. It was close.

Well this concludes this entry. I have to learn how to get to downtown Prague and back before the night falls and the crazies come out. Till next time. Adios y'all.
