Dear Santa,
I know that we haven’t talked in some time but I figured I’d drop you a line. I’ve already written to Jesus, Buddha, and Superman so I thought I’d include you too. This year for Christmas, in addition to the myriad of electronics that I’m entitled to, I would like a job. Or, failing to actually land a position, just to have an employer let me know they are no longer interested in my application. You see Santa, I have been unemployed since June and to be perfectly frank it sucks. I enjoy the extra free time that this affords me to spend tending to my bonsai and staring at my fish but the lack of money is starting to become a nuisance. Bear in mind that I am not complaining. I have it better than some. I would just like something to pop out of the hundreds of resumes, applications, letters of interest, and other forms of employer enticement that I’ve sent out.
Perhaps you would be interested in offering me a position making toys or have you outsourced that work? If so I would like to congratulate you on your economical decision. In this current economic climate you have to be especially conservative so I can understand the decision to outsource. I hope it works out well for you.
Well I guess that about covers everything Santa. I hope you take my request under advisement. Just a little background information about me for you to share with interested parties. I have a Bachelor’s degree in English with a concentration in Creative Writing. I’m good looking, intelligent, a fast learner, and a wonderful cook. I also enjoy working. Now that about covers everything. Give my best to the family. I’ll leave some cookies and milk out for you. See you soon!
Your Friend,
Justin
